Krew (Crew) PETRONAS will serve a total of 900,000 cups of freshly brewed coffee and an assortment of snacks over two weekends. An earlier session was held on 2 and 3 July, and more coffee will be served on 9 and 10 July 2016 from 3pm onwards.
To further reinforce its commitment to road safety this year, PETRONAS is contributing RM20,000 worth of PETRONAS Primax 95 with Advanced Energy Formula fuel to St. John's Ambulance of Malaysia (SJAM). The fuel will be used to power 50 ambulances that will provide emergency response services along major highways during the festive season. This is the 22nd year that PETRONAS is partnering with the organisation.
“Over the years, PETRONAS Coffee Break has become a campaign synonymous with the ‘balik kampung’ travelling period and our customers look forward to it every time. In response to the positive feedback received, we have increased the number of participating stations since the last campaign as well as the amount and variety of goodies to be given away,” said Mohd Ibrahimnuddin Mohd Yunus, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, PETRONAS Dagangan (PD).
“We understand that the long hours on the road can be taxing for the person behind the wheel. Thus, PETRONAS invites all motorists to drop by, rest and relax with some light refreshments on the house, before resuming your journey. Staying alert on the road is critical in ensuring the safety of yourself and others. We want you to be safe for the journey home.”
The return of the much-loved campaign, now in its 17th year, also sees PDB collaborating with nine partners to bring extra cheer to travellers when they drop by the participating stations. In addition, safety-related services such as 20-point safety inspections and health checks will be provided at selected locations for free.
PETRONAS Coffee Break is held in collaboration with Nestle’ Products, Munchworld Marketing, Coca-Cola Refreshments Malaysia, Suntory Beverages & Food Malaysia, URC Snack Food, Industri Makanan Snek Ku, Goodwill Marketing & Agency, SJAM and Proton Holdings.
Over the 30 days of Ramadhan, PD sponsored 160 PETRONAS liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) cylinders to aid Masjid Jamek Kampung Baru’s signature Bubur Lambuk Agong, which sees over 15 large pots of the special porridge dish prepared daily by the mosque, then distributed daily to the public.
“We are warmed by the close-knit relationship with Masjid Jamek Kampung Baru, which we have cultivated over the past 14 years. As a member of the community that cares, we remember our blessings by sharing in the joy of togetherness through the simple act of breaking fast,” said Mohd Ibrahimnuddin.
“We hope that our sponsorship this year will help the organisations we support to reach out to as many people as possible in fostering the spirit of togetherness, besides ensuring a meaningful and safe cooking experience with Malaysia’s No. 1 Cooking Gas brand.”
The preparation of the dish on 27 June was assisted by volunteers from PETRONAS, after which it was packed and served with a modest iftar spread for 50 orphans and underprivileged children from Kompleks Anak Yatim Darul Kifayah Gombak and Rumah Kasih Harmoni Sg Buloh. They also received some Raya goodies from the company to usher in the festive season.
