Prophet's Birthday holiday announced

A substitute holiday has been announced in Oman for the Prophet's Birthday as it falls on a weekend, the Oman News Agency has reported.

Sayyid Khalid bin Hilal al-Busaidi, Minister of the Diwan of Royal Court and Chairman of the Civil Service Council, stated that November 10 2019, will be an official holiday for employees of the ministries, public authorities and other departments of the state administrative apparatus on the occasion of the anniversary of the Prophet’s Birthday (PBUH). The actual day is on 12 Rabee Al Awwal, 1441, November 9.
 
Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser al-Bakri, Minister of Manpower, Oman, issued a corresponding ministerial decision to stop work at private sector companies on November 10.
 
Employers and employees may discuss work arrangements during the holiday as required.

Meanwhile in the Emirates, the Integrated Transport Centre (ITC) in Abu Dhabi announced that parking will be free during the birthday of the prophet Muhammed from November 9, 2019 to 7:59 AM November 10, 2019.

In a report from WAM, the Emirates News Agency, the ITC requested the public not to park in prohibited areas nor block vehicles or traffic flow. ITC also urged the public to adhere to regulations regarding resident permit parking bays from 9 PM to 8 AM.

Public buses and ferry services in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi will operate on same schedule as for Fridays and official holidays.
