According to Etihad, the prayer areas can be curtained off for privacy and are equipped with a real-time electronic qibla-finder to show the exact direction of Mecca based on the aircraft’s geographical position.

The areas will be available on its new Airbus A380 and Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft in the economy and business classes. Initial destinations to be served by the A380 and 787 aircraft are listed here.
