Indonesia's Trade Minister Zulkifli Hasan announced during the closing ceremony for the offline portion of the 38th Trade Expo Indonesia (TEI) on 22 October 2023 that the total transaction value for the five-day event hit US$25.3 B, beyond the expected target of US$11 B. TEI is the largest trade fair hosted by the Indonesian Ministry of Trade in collaboration with the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KADIN) as the strategic partner.

The top trading partners were Malaysia (US$6.29 B), followed by India (US$6.23 B) and then China (US$5.58 B). In terms of products, the top three categories were coal (US$13.26 B), chemical and organic products (US$2.92 B), and then strategic industry products (US$2.73 B).

The colocated Jakarta Muslim Fashion Week (JMFW) 2024, running 19-21 October 2023, booked a transaction value of US$20.1 M. "JMFW 2024 shows that our Muslim fashion products have drawn strong interests from international markets, and we have to maintain the ecosystem in such a way that our domestic market be competitive against imported fashion products," said Minister Zulkifli.

The online portion of TEI continues until 18 December 2023 at www.tradexpoindonesia.com.
