NAPCO Oman donates wheelchairs to Oman Association for Disabled

National Aluminium Products Company (NAPCO), a major extruder of aluminium profiles in the GCC, recently provided 30 wheelchairs to the Oman Association for Disabled. The company announced in late July that the donation is in line with the company’s roster of activities in celebration of Eid, as well as its on-going CSR initiatives.

Established in 1995 through a ministerial decision, the Oman Association for Disabled is a nonprofit organisation that aims to provide support, education and leisure activities to people with disabilities. Sayyid Wasfi Jamshid Abdullah Al Said, Chairman of the Board of Directors, NAPCO, said: “We believe that the Oman Association for the Disabled is a very fitting partner in NAPCO’s efforts to reach out to the Omani people. We highly commend the group’s steadfast commitment to foster a better understanding of the needs of people with disabilities among the community. We hope that our contribution to their cause in the spirit of Eid will bring joy to those in need.”

Earlier in the month, NAPCO celebrated Ramadhan with Dar Al Atta’a, a well-known charity in Oman dedicated to helping the local community.

Robert Holtkamp, CEO, NAPCO, said: “We have partnered with Dar Al Atta’a in the spirit of Ramadhan and in line with our efforts to strengthen our ongoing support to Omanis across all sectors. We hold the organisation’s positive contributions to the community in high regard, and we believe that it is an exceptional ally in our efforts to implement our CSR initiatives. Our initiatives are especially directed towards the less fortunate Omani families and children. We made sure our assistance was effectively distributed in key areas throughout the country so everyone can enjoy their iftar.”

NAPCO’s aid was directed towards providing the iftar meal taken by Muslims at sunset to end their fast. The iftar sponsorship was deployed across a total of 10 mosques in Muscat, Oman, providing a generous spread of food and drinks that catered to more than 1,100 people. The beneficiary mosques were situated in the areas of Athaiba, Wadi Adai, Ansab, Baushar, Bidbid, Al Mudhaibi, and Amerat.

“This was an integral component of our Islamic Values programmes and we were delighted with the liberal support that we have received from NAPCO. In recognition of the success of this recent partnership, we look forward to a long-term relationship with the company in cultivating support for Dar Al Atta’a Association’s programmes and assistance in reaching out to the less fortunate and putting a smile on their faces,” said Maryam Al Zadjali, Chairperson of Dar Al Atta’a.
