The Al Meroz hotel in Bangkok, Thailand was established to provide both Muslim and non-Muslim guests with the best traditions of the Islamic way of living. The Arabesque architecture, halal-certified cuisine and no-alcohol environment are designed to provide Islamic hospitality. The rooms and suites include one floor reserved exclusively for female guests. Staff are trained and attired in the Muslim tradition, while retaining the warmth and hospitality for which Thailand is famous.

The Al Meroz has 242 rooms, ranging from superior and deluxe rooms to suites. All rooms feature the qiblat, and include a prayer mat and a copy of Quran. The floor earmarked for female guests has female staff in attendance. For families connecting rooms are available, with baby cots and child-minding services on request. The in-room television service is programmed for family-friendly viewing.

Barakat, the Mediterranean Restaurant and Diwan, an all-day family dining restaurant, offer halal-certified cuisine in a non-alcoholic environment. The hotel's main kitchen is also halal-certified.

Leisure facilities at the Al Meroz include an open-air swimming pool and gymnasium. The pool and gymnasium are available exclusively to female guests during the morning hours, and for male guests after midday. The shopping arcade includes alcohol-free toiletries and cosmetics. Transportation to the main tourist attractions and downtown shopping areas is convenient, as are major hospitals providing surgical and cosmetic services.

The Grand Meroz Banquet Hall can seat 650 guests, with a pre-dining capacity of 1,200 guests. Meeting and seminar rooms can accommodate from 30 to 800 participants, and Bustan, the open-air rooftop, is ideal for up to 200 guests. Halal-certified custom menus can be created for any occasion.

The hotel recently hosted the Halal Standard for Consumer Protection seminar and workshop, organised by Associate Professor Dr Pakorn Priyakorn, Director of the Halal Standard Institute of Thailand in cooperation with The Central Islamic Council of Thailand and The Halal Science Center at Chulalongkorn University. The event aimed to increase better awareness on consumer protection for halal products and share knowledge among Muslim scholars.
