Jointly organised by Islamicevents.sg and Darul Makmur Mosque, the event spans June 10 and 11. Anything goes - participants can create a mobile app, a web app, or a hardware implementation for a game, a matchmaking service or a website for example.
The hackathon is unusual as it will be held during the month Ramadhan in a mosque. Participants will be able to take part in the mass iftar meal at sunset, and in the night prayers.
The top three teams will receive prizes, and all teams will get door gifts, sponsored by Mendaki Club, General Assembly and 12Geeks - Where Geeks Level Up.
Proposals will be assessed on three criteria:
Impactful/relevance (50%)
- Addresses the challenge
- Feasibility
Technical (30%)
- Complexity
- Completeness
- How much of the solution has been built in the 24 hours.
- Design and user experience
Innovation (20%)
- Is it interesting
- Has the idea been implemented before?
- Is it solving the problem in a different way?
