The mission will also oversee the execution of contracts concluded with relevant institutions, receive the land plots allocated for UAE pilgrims and prepare camps in the holy sites. The mission will further receive the UAE’s pilgrims at King Abdul-Aziz Airport in Jeddah and at the airport in Madinah from August 9, 2018.
The General Authority of Islamic Affairs & Endowments of the UAE (Awqaf) also announced that all the preparations necessary for this year’s pilgrimage have been completed. According to the Hajj registration portal from Awqaf for Hajj 2018, the majority of Hajj packages ranged between AED 12,000 to AED 70,000, based on factors such as accommodation quality, class of flight and type of transport at the holy sites. The typical duration for a package ranges from eight to 10 days.
Jamal Lataifa, Manager of the Al Marwa Hajj and umrah campaign in Abu Dhabi said, “The cost of Hajj packages varies based on the programme and the nature of services provided to pilgrims at the holy places such as accommodation and transportation.” He added that this year’s quota allocated for each Hajj contractor ranged between 150 and 170 pilgrims.
The UAE Health Department has separately called on UAE pilgrims to take all the vaccines necessary to protect them from infectious and communicable diseases. The vaccines should be taken two weeks before departure. Forty-two medical centres, hospitals and clinics have been allocated across Abu Dhabi to provide the three vaccinations that are required.
