All 11 COVID 19 cases in KSA are people from Qatif.
Measures include:
- Suspending entry into and exit from Qatif Governorate temporarily, from Saihat in the south to Safwa in the north, while allowing residents to reach their homes. Commercial and catering transport will still be allowed access, with health precautions.
- Closing all government departments and private institutions, other than basic infrastructure such as pharmacies, supply stores, petrol stations, as well as health, environmental, municipal and security facilities, with health precautions.
- Those affected will be issued an electronic health licence by the KSA Ministry of Health.
The Ministry of Health separately requires travellers who have been in Italy, South Korea, Egypt, and Lebanon to self-quarantine for two weeks starting from the date of their return. Through an infographic published on Twitter, the ministry listed isolation procedures at home such as:
- Sneezing or coughing in tissues and disposing of them in the trash
- Covering the mouth with the elbow, not hands
- Washing hands with soap and water or alcohol disinfectant
- Staying in a private room and asking others to help them.
- Avoiding travelling or going to public places
- Receiving visitors at home
- Communicating with others from at least 1 m away
- Wearing a mask when you outside home, or in contact with others.

Information about COVID is also being displayed on screens in the courtyards of the Masjid Al-Haram in Makkah by Makkah Health Affairs, in collaboration with the General Presidency of the Holy Mosque and Prophet's Mosque.
Those who have COVID symptoms should contact the 937 hotline. In late February, 937 has included live chat and chatbot. services which allow callers to:
- Locate the nearest primary healthcare centre.
- Locate centres which are open.
- Make general enquiries, complaints, and reports.
To use the chatbot:
- Go to the ministry website;
- Select the chatbot icon, at the bottom right of the screen;
- Select the required service.
- Start asking questions.
