Assembly of Hajj mutawwifin of Southeast Asia pilgrims inaugurated

The KSA Deputy Minister of Hajj and Umrah Dr Abdul Fattah Mashat has inaugurated the first constituent assembly of Hajj mutawwifin* of Southeast Asia pilgrims on June 16, the Saudi Press Agency has reported. The assembly had completed legal requirements to establish the company and received its business registration documents.

Mashat said that the conversion of institutions into shareholding companies would improve the quality of service and help to developing the Hajj and umrah sector, and is in line with KSA's Vision 2030.

*Mutawwifin, the plural of mutawwif (مطوف), are people appointed by the KSA Ministry of Hajj and Umrah to look after the needs and wellbeing of Hajj pilgrims. Their responsibilities are similar to a concierge, and range from arranging accommodation and transport, providing literature, and facilitating medical and funeral services for pilgrims.
