Festive Ramadan at the Mandarin Oriental Kuala Lumpur

The Festive Ramadan promotion* at the Mandarin Oriental Kuala Lumpur is valid from 7 June to 17 July 2016. From RM669, guests can enjoy a daily breakfast at Mosaic or suhoor served in the room for two persons. There is a 25% savings for the Buka Puasa buffet dinner at Mosaic or the Diamond Ballroom.

Additionally, the promotion includes 50% savings on a second purchase purchase of any massage or treatment at The Spa. Both purchases must be made at the same time.

Mandarin Oriental KL gets into the Ramadhan spirit

Over 100 authentic buka puasa (break fast) delicacies and international favourites will be available at Mosaic and the Diamond Ballroom, the Mandarin Oriental Kuala Lumpur during the fasting month. 

The Buka Puasa Buffet runs from 6 June to 5 July 2016, 6pm to 10.30pm at Mosaic. Gamelan performances will be held daily at the lobby from 6pm onwards. 

From 13 June to 3 July, local fruits like durian and mangosteen will be presented at the Lounge on the Park’s outdoor terrace. 

For gatherings and groups of four and above, the Diamond Ballroom will feature an extensive spread on local dishes and authentic buka puasa delights, also from 13 June to 3 July 2016, 6pm to 10pm. 

Traditional Hari Raya hampers and goodies can be purchased at the Festive Desk at the Lobby from 20 May to 8 July 2016, 10am to 9pm daily. The smaller Traditional Hari Raya Hamper at RM288 contains a Bakul Raya rattan basket that includes 'Mini Arabian Tower' goodies, premium dates, lapis legit cake, Arabic baklava dessert, Ramadan cookies, and ketupat bouche. Orders for hampers must be made at least 24 hours in advance.

AquaMarine goes healthy for the month of April

The AquaMarine restaurant at the 5-star luxury Marina Mandarin in Singapore is celebrating wholesome eating this April with fresh organic ingredients integrated into its halal-certified buffet spread.

AquaMarine will feature live food stations fresh seafood, Singapore classics and international fare with a healthy twist up to end-April. At the Chinese live station, the popular chicken rice dish will be served with brown rice and at the buffet line, wholewheat flour will be used for pastas and tortillas. Organic vegetables will be served and yogurt will be used for marinating our meats.

Highlights of the menu include salmon en Papillote with Lemongrass and Fresh Coriander where all fresh ingredients are encased and slow baked to perfection in parchment paper, and chicken shawarma with yoghurt pineapple in Whole Wheat Tortilla, which uses skinless chicken thigh meat marinated with organic herbs and yogurt instead of oil. The must-try 45˚C sous vide barramundi with fennel fronds and Caramelized Onion is prepared in the sous vide style: vacuum packed and cooked at a low and precise temperature so that the natural taste of the ingredients and nutrients are retained.

Iftar at Marina Mandarin Singapore

Halal-certified buffet restaurant AquaMarine has prepared an iftar menu that includes dates, roast whole baby lamb with Moroccan spice, bulgur wheat, raita and Indonesian oxtail soup. Running till 17 July, diners should not miss the chicken, oxtail, prawn and sea bass in banana leaves as well as jumbo charcoal-grilled satay at the Bakar Station.

For group iftars, the newly refurbished and fully air-conditioned Terrace@AquaMarine is available for reservations.
