In partnership with Red Crescent, Yas Island in Abu Dhabi, UAE has made a pledge under the Yas Island Joy of Eid campaign that every smile shared and dirham donated towards its smile campaign will go towards building schools and related facilities in developing countries.
From Eid Al Fitr to Eid Al Adha (early September 2016), the entertainment, shopping and lifestyle destination is accepting outright donations and smiles that will support the development of two schools and two playgrounds in remote communities in Pakistan and Mauritania. Each school will have four classrooms and related facilities to encourage the importance of play alongside education.
Yas Island will make a contribution of one brick towards the schools for every smile donated, and every use of the hashtag #YasJoyofEid.
Smiles may be uploaded, or taken via photobooths placed around the island.
