RIS to be held for the first time in Malaysia

Reviving the Islamic Spirit (RIS), an event originally conceived as a gathering place for Muslims in the West to overcome contemporary challenges of communication and integration, is to be held for the first time in Malaysia this March.

The convention has its roots in promoting stronger ties within North American society through reviving the Islamic tradition of education, tolerance and introspection, and across cultural lines through points of commonality and respect, and is now being brought internationally through the religious and cultural melting pot of Malaysia.

With the theme 1400 Years of Clarity: Restoring Faith in the Modern Age, the 15th RIS comprises a convention, live entertainment, a bazaar as well as a knowledge retreat (this last sold out on February 6). Islamic leaders from around the world will be featured  in a celebration of identity and faith, without engaging in ideological discourse.
