Habtas to start in Oman for 2017

The Oman News Agency has shared dates for Eid habta ahead of Eid al Fitr this year. The traditional markets which include livestock auctions are held before Eid. Habta will begin in all governorates 10 days before Eid and last one day before Eid, beginning at sunrise each day and closing between 11 am and 1 pm, the agency said.

The habta ahead of Eid al Fitr begin from 24 to 29 Ramadhan, beginning in Wadi Bani Khalid and Ibra, Bausher and Fanja. Four consecutive habta will take place in Wadi Bani Khalid, starting in Al Khalidiyah village, then Umq, Al Masalaha Market and Al Hawairiyyah and continue to 27th of Ramadhan.

On 26 Ramadhan, habta will be held in Rustaq, Samail, Sur, Wadi Al Ma'awel, Bidiyah, Al Khabourah, and Al Muntarib. On the next day, habta will open in Ja'alan Bani Bu Ali, Suwaiq, Bahla, Barka, Ja'alan Bani Bu Hassan, Nakhal, Seeb, and in Al Wasel village in Wilayat Al Qabil. On 28 Ramadhan, there will be habta in Al Kamil Wa Al Wafi.

Habta feature toys, light traditional weapons, as well as traditional clothing. They will also have all the items needed to create shuwa and other Eid dishes.
