The Katara Ramadan Festival has focused on the hospitality traditions of Muslims in different countries. Lectures, exhibitions, competitions, entertainment and educational activities have been organised for visitors.

One of the activities is a treasure hunt. The free Find your treasure competition at Katara is on at Beach 01 from 2:30 am to 4:30 am on Friday evenings, after taraweeh prayers.

Ten boxes have been hidden at Katara for all to discover with the help of downloadable maps that are distributed every Thursday. Those who discover the boxes can check if they have won at the competition kiosk in Meerat Ramadan at Katara’s southern area. Three winners will be named each week, winning financial awards worth QAR2,000 each, among other prizes.  No registration is required.

Another highlight is Grangao night, a children's festival which marks the mid-point for Ramadhan.
