1.7 million pilgrims have arrived in KSA for Hajj

As of 30 August 1,752,014 pilgrims from 168 nationalities have safely arrived by air, land and sea to perform this year's Hajj, official statistics from the KSA immigration department say, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) has reported.

According to the report, 1,648,332 pilgrims came by air, 88,855 by land and 14,827 by sea.
Male pilgrims accounted for 54% of the total.

As many as 867,945 pilgrims have set foot in Madinah for this year's Hajj, the SPA added. The Madinah-based National Pilgrim-Guides Foundation released daily statistics showing that 866,791 pilgrims have left Madinah, while 1,053 pilgrims remained in it.

In another report the SPA noted that the General Presidency for the Grand Holy Mosque in Makkah and the Prophet's Mosque in Madinah have announced the successful completion of the first phase of its plans for Hajj 2017.
